There are some really excellent resources available to you to learn more about egg donation in the UK

NGDT

An excellent resource for egg donors, The National Gamete Donation Trust (http://www.ngdt.co.uk/) was set up in 1998 as a national government-funded charity to raise awareness of and seek ways to alleviate the national shortage of gamete (sperm, egg and embryo) donors.   In particular the NGDT has a very useful page for egg donors:  http://www.ngdt.co.uk/images/stories/pdfs/becoming_an_egg_donor.pdf

HFEA

The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (http://www.hfea.gov.uk/)  is the UK’s independent regulator overseeing the use of gametes and embryos in fertility treatment and research.  They have plenty of information about the rules and requirements governing egg donation:  http://www.hfea.gov.uk/egg-and-sperm-donors.html

donor conception network

The Donor Conception Network is an information and support portal for people planning, or who have, children conceived using donated sperm or eggs. http://www.dcnetwork.org/
