There are some really excellent resources available to you to learn more about egg donation in the UK



An excellent resource for egg donors, The National Gamete Donation Trust ( was set up in 1998 as a national government-funded charity to raise awareness of and seek ways to alleviate the national shortage of gamete (sperm, egg and embryo) donors.   In particular the NGDT has a very useful page for egg donors:



The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (  is the UK’s independent regulator overseeing the use of gametes and embryos in fertility treatment and research.  They have plenty of information about the rules and requirements governing egg donation:
